Performance testing

Has anyone used some software to test performance of SQL
Server that can cause many transactions against a given
server/database? We have a new application installed on a
server that is on-loan. We are still in training for the
app, but need to determine if our hardware and SQL Server
2000 can handle heavy user access (1200).
Anyone have some suggestions
We use Application Center Test (similar to Web Application Stress Tool) to
drive our App and pound the DB.
Has been giving us consistent results and excellent data points.
Not perfect, but for a free tool, it seems to be doing the job for us.

|||the SQL resource kit has a tool for that purpose. If you have MSDN then it
is free :-)
